So maybe you heard. But if not, in the learning and development space, the very popular elearning authoring company, Articulate launched a product called Frontline that uses internal AI to allow anyone to take corporate materials and instantly create instructional content.
There was a lot of backlash from the L&D community that this tech was undermining their value…because if a company wanted “good enough”, they can get it without an expert in learning/instructional theory.
But here’s an interesting twist to AI democratizing course creation with Frontline…
It may actually make the course less important.
When pretty much anyone can create learning resources, creating learning resources is no longer L&D’s scarce expertise.
What is the needed expertise then?
Knowing how to create the conditions where people can more easily learn from each other, share what they know, make sense of change and adapt together.
This makes it more interesting for L&D work not less.
If this made you think, pass it along.
