Reflecting this week on both my kids now being at university.

I don’t celebrate that they got into college as much as I celebrate they WANTED to go. They wanted to explore what education can truly provide them.

The challenge for them now is how they will see it as a path forward; to a role or to a possibility?

The first is more aligned to training, the second to what I think education should be for. From a career that has been in both arenas, I’m left with this thought:

Where training prepares you for what is expected; education prepares you for what isn’t.

… and more and more, I expect the world of work to be one where you’ll have to be able to navigate the unexpected.

About Me

I help organizations become more social by design.

I’m an organizational social designer, author, and speaker. I help companies develop systems for the culture they need to scale their business without losing the things that make it special. I facilitate this shift through workshops, speaking engagements, and coaching.
