Wirearchy: Making the Invisible Visible

Wirearchy, an idea/concept created by Jon Husband is a dynamic flow of trust, knowledge, and authority enabled by connection. In organizations, it is everywhere, yet we struggle to see it.

Wirearchy isn’t something you implement; it’s something you uncover. How can this be done? How can Wirearchy be more tangible for organizations?

It starts with the work. Social systems form naturally around shared purpose and goals, not policies or platforms. Focus on removing friction: outdated systems, siloed decision-making, and metrics that reduce people to “adoption rates.” Instead, amplify the human connections that already exist.

Transparency, openness, and trust make wirearchy thrive. When people share openly – mistakes, questions, ideas, etc. it builds not just better solutions, but a sense of community. Start small: a team solving a shared problem can spark the trust and collaboration that scale.

And remember: technology doesn’t create wirearchy. It merely supports it. True wirearchy depends on leaders who are willing to redesign the rules, reward curiosity, and let people own their outcomes.

Wirearchy isn’t the future of work. It’s the present. We just need to make it visible.
